Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do your planning costs cover?

Everything. When you work with us, you get a comprehensive financial plan, equity compensation strategy, proactive tax planning, investment management, insurance review, estate planning coordination, benefits guidance, and unlimited access to your advisor team. There is no nickel-and-diming for additional meetings or questions — that is what the fee is for.

Why do you charge both a planning cost and an AUM fee?
‍

Investment management and financial planning are two different things. Managing a portfolio is one piece of what we do — but the real value we deliver is in the planning: the tax strategy, the equity compensation decisions, the estate plan, the insurance gaps. The planning fee covers that work, which exists independently of how much we manage for you.

How do I know what I would actually pay?

The best way is a conversation. Our AUM fees are straightforward — you can estimate them on this page. The planning fee depends on the complexity of your financial life, and individual advisors may have their own minimums. We will always be upfront about what you would pay before any engagement begins.

Do you work with clients who don't have assets to manage yet?

Yes. Some of our best relationships start with clients who have strong income and equity compensation but haven't accumulated significant investable assets yet. In those cases we work on a flat planning fee basis and grow the relationship from there.

What does 'unlimited access' actually mean?

It means you can call, email, or text your advisor when something comes up — a question about your options, a job change, a major purchase, open enrollment — without worrying about whether it counts as a billable conversation. We are your Personal CFO. That requires being available.

How are you different from my current financial advisor?

Most advisors manage investments. We do that too — but we layer in comprehensive financial planning, proactive tax strategy, equity compensation planning, and coordination across every area of your financial life. If your current advisor isn't talking to you about your RSUs, your deferred comp elections, your insurance gaps, or your estate plan, that's the difference.

Ready to Choose Balance?

You’ve worked hard to get to this point, so lets make sure your financial life reflects that. Whether you are looking for clarity around your equity compensation, got hit with a tax bill you didn’t see coming, or simply making sure you are doing everything you should be, let’s start with a conversation. Tell us a bit about you, where you stand, why you’re reaching out now, and what is keeping you up at night.
